May 2014Great news for all the Rig preorder owners, the world’s fastest Bitcoin mining unit topping an amazing speed of 2. 4 TH/s is now being produced on large scale. The design was challenging. Extremely challenging. But we’ve made it! The very high power density (nearly 3kW in just a 4U chassis) and the heat resulting from it have pushed the engineering design to new limits. It took 5 different prototype revisions and countless hours of fine tuning, but the pilot unit is now working since last week at a stable 2. 4 TH/s and has been pushed to 2. 8 TH/s peak hashing rate, effectively reaching the advertised Turbo mode speeds and putting the Rig in the history as the currently fastest Bitcoin mining equipment! Latest issues had been on the mainboard PCB, so we had a chance to start production of the Hashing Units PCB a bit earlier. We are now waiting for the last revised mainboards to land in our factory the next week to start the production and delivery of the first units, with plans to complete the deliveries within the end of June.
