Paypal had recently reported that their active users amount had reached 100 millions! Administration of this payment system claims that this amount is raising for one million (! ) every month, and it’s very impressive, however it’s not clear what they mean by «active user».
At the end of last year they had only 94. 4 millions active users, and thatВґs many times more then any other payment system or e-currency (for example, Webmoney claimed at the end of 2010 that they had 13 millions users, including no active I guess). Paypal is owned by eBay, biggest online auction, and PP is making 39% of ebayВґs profit – at the first quarter of 2011 they made 1 billion USD revenue, that is 23% higher then last years result. So this year looks very promising for paypal, especially because they are planning to start work in market of mobile payments soon.
