Archives3 days ago I placed 2 orders on TigerDirect for computer parts for a customer of mine. I wanted to try the BTC service they just rolled out, and considering said customer paid me in BTC, it just seemed logical. For 3 days, and about 10 phone calls, my order has been on hold according to the website. Today, I finally got some information out of the incompetent CS reps. According to him, if payment is not received within 15 minutes of the time of invoice, they will not receive the Bitcoins. He said I was too late and my payment was not received. I pointed him to the TX ID on the blockchain, and he didn’t even know what he was looking at. I left repeated messages on BitPay’s voicemail without a return call. TD is absolutely no help and in my opinion, should not have released this service without proper testing and hiring of professionals that actually know what a Bitcoin is and how it works. Any advice on how to get my money back? Very very upset over this.
Edit: This is not BitPay’s fault nor mine. It is TigerDirect’s. BitPay has already contacted me due to exposure from this thread and sent me a link to a proof of purchase invoice. TigerDirect tells me to wait 24-48 hours every time I contact them regarding this issue, despite 4 days having passed from them originally stating that. Supposedly management are the only ones that can remove the hold on my order, and they are tied up with more important matters than a new customer having a very bad experience with a high-volume order.
Edit: A similar situation occurred simultaneously with snapCard. One of quite a few orders through them for Newegg did not go through. Oddly, it was a costly order like this one. Why didn’t this get bashed about on Reddit? Because snapCard is an awesome service that actually tries to resolve customers’ problems. I can not complain whatsoever about snapCard in any way. They have been way more than helpful over the past few days with my orders. Give them a try. You won’t be disappointed. No I am not getting paid to post this… they really are that good. 🙂
