How to Buy MaxCoin
Have you heard of MaxCoin and want to buy some? Perfect! We will walk you through how to buy MaxCoins right now.
STEP 1: PURCHASE BITCOIN
The first step in getting just about any alt coin starts with getting some Bitcoin. If you don’t know how to purchase Bitcoin, please follow the steps in our HOW TO BUY BITCOINS guide. It’s easy to do, and future you will thank you!
STEP 2: SET UP A CRYPTSY ACCOUNT
After you’ve acquired your Bitcoin, the next step is to take that Bitcoin, and exchange it for MaxCoin! To do that, first you need a Cryptsy account.
Create a Cryptsy account here.
STEP 3: CREATE A BITCOIN DEPOSIT ADDRESS ON CRYPTSY
After you’ve created your Cryptsy account, click the Balances button at the top of Cryptsy after you’re logged in.
This will show you the current balance you own of every coin on Cryptsy. (Warning: you’ll see a LOT of zeroes, because Cryptsy has a LOT of coins! )
Next, scroll down the list until you find Bitcoin. At the very right, you’ll see a green button that says BTC Actions. Click that, and the following menu should pop up.
We want to Deposit BTC, so click the first option.
A new window will pop up, called Deposit Bitcoin & AutoSell Setup.
If this is the first time you’ve used Cryptsy and you haven’t deposited before, the Deposit Address field will be blank. Click Generate New Deposit Address, and you should see a Bitcoin address similar to the one above. Click the copy icon to the right of the address, and close the pop-up.
STEP 4: TRANSFER BITCOIN TO CRYPTSY
Now that you’ve created a Cryptsy account and a Bitcoin deposit address, head back to Coinbase. Login to your account, and on the left under GENERAL click “Send/Request”. You’ll then see a page with your current BTC balance, and two buttons at the top right: Send Money and Request Money.
Click Send Money, and you’ll see the following window pop up:
Remember that Bitcoin deposit address from Cryptsy that you copied earlier? Now is the time to use it! Place that address in the To field, and enter the amount of Bitcoin you’d like to send to Cryptsy. Once you’ve done that, double check the address on Cryptsy matches; with Bitcoin, there’s no do-overs.
If they match, hit Send Money, and close the Coinbase tab.
STEP 5: EXCHANGE YOUR BITCOIN FOR MaxCoinВ ON CRYPTSY
Anywhere from 1-24 hours after transferring your Bitcoin to your Cryptsy deposit address, you’ll see a new Bitcoin balance on your Cryptsy account.
Once your BTC has shown up, it’s time to buy some MaxCoins! To get your MaxCoins, find the BTC Markets field on the left sidebar of Cryptsy. Scroll down until you see the pair, MAX/BTC. Click it.
This page is everything you need to know about the current MaxCoinВ market. The chart shows the recent volume and price of the coins, and below the Buy/Sell boxes you can see other Buy/Sell orders. As a default, Cryptsy places your order above the current high order by a fraction of a coin. In this case, the current high order for MaxCoinВ is 0. 0001025 BTC per MaxCoin. If you would like to get your MaxCoinВ NOW, and not play with the markets, the easiest way to do this is to enter a value that is JUST above the current high buying price in “Price Per MAX” in the Buy MAXВ menu.
Once you’ve set your price per MaxCoin, you can then type in how many MaxCoinВ you want to buy. The site automatically tells you how much BTC this will cost you, and also gives you the BTC you have available near the bottom. As long as your order is UNDER the amount of BTC available, you’re good to go. Click Submit Buy Order, and you’re done.
STEP 6: WAIT FOR THE ORDER TO FILL
After you’ve set your amount and submitted your order, you don’t have your MaxCoinsВ just yet! Crypto markets are fast moving, and there’s a chance someone put in a higher offer before you could type yours out. Stay on this page, and keep an eye on the price until you get a notice stating that your order has been fulfilled. Once this is done, click BALANCES at the top, and scroll down to make sure you have your MaxCoin!
