NyanCoin partners with NyanCat, becomes first licensed cryptocurrencyOver the last week and a half, the creator of NyanCoin (KNyan, not 9Nyan/NYN) has been hinting about big things being in the works for the adorable new cryptocurrency. With no shortage of promising new alts popping up — and a direct competitor with the same name and more adopters — fervent supporters of NYAN held tight, having faith in their developer. Looks like that was well rewarded, as NyanCoin has now officially announced a partnership with NyanCat. This makes NyanCoin the first officially licensed cryptocurrency. You can see a link to the coin on the official NyanCat site, and NyanCoin’s creator has told users on BitcoinTalk that NyanCat plans to promote the coin and new partnership through their own PR channels. Is this the news NyanCoin needed to start taking off? Time will tell. But so far, since the announcement the net hashrate has gone up substantially compared to the number it hovered at for the first two weeks. If you’re a gambling man who loves the idea of a low difficulty coin that has a chance to explode (and missed out on Doge), you may want to give NyanCoin a close look. What does this new partnership mean for the other NyanCoin (NYN/9Nyan)? Likely nothing good. As of this article being posted, the official topic for that coin has had its first post completely wiped clean, and its developer hasn’t posted anything since January 17. Support our site!
