Call to action | BitcoinSachsI am no Hercules. I am no soothsayer. I am tragically flawed, and painfully human. The things I ranted about tonight are emotional to me because I know I’ve been guilty of doing many of them. The only saving grace is the realization of what I am doing, and how we must move on. It’s never really what you did to get there, it’s always how you respond and move forward that counts. We’ve collectively left a lot to be desired over the last two months. I am sure I am not the only one who sees the array of issues we’ve left on the table. We reveal our true identities and true colors in the moments of distress, in the moments of struggle, failure, and despair. We need to own our mistakes, our missteps, and be resolute about moving away from them. What we must do is smile, get up, stand tall, and take a step forward. We can no longer afford to fight each other. We can no longer afford to be cruel to the new people. We can no longer afford to be anti-social or really, anything except a crypto evangelist. We must reach out and speak to ‘outsiders’ about crypto as much as possible. Inform people. Teach people. Inspire and cultivate relationships. This is how crypto grows. We must look to be friends first. We must look to help each other. Sometime in the last 60 days, it seemed that everyone decided to become a mercenary. Only work for money, only help for a price, only contribute for money. It’s funny because many of these people have coins! They do not understand the value of their own coins is directly dependent upon infrastructure, projects, and services being completed! When I talk about individual (self) interest aligning with community interest, what I mean is the community needs Projects A, B, C completed. Individuals want coin prices to increase, and more stuff to do with them. I don’t know how to more clearly tie the two together. I am deeply disappointed by the developers out there who have decided to abandon community for becoming basically pirates. What I mean by that is several really talented developers are making small fortunes creating stupid coins for every stiff that walks by with the money. They aren’t creating anything useful. They are purposely over saturating the market for their personal profit, effectively drowning crypto. Awesome. That’s your legacy, I hope your Mercedes was worth it. I am just astonished at how many of these people cannot see out of their own shadow. We must move forward. We do that by working together. I created the CCWG (Cryptocurrency Working Group) to be a United Nations for cryptocoins. On Twitter, I had a lot of interest, and very little follow through. I was debating on building it it’s own website and forum. Spam, junk, promo and hype free. Invite only forum for coin leadership and developers to get real work done without the noise. If people are interested, I’d love to work together and get this done. I like using the. cc domain because we can self-brand it. cc for cryptocurrency. Being as though some dipshit squatted on every domain that exists involving the words coin and crypto. Yes, I hate domain squatters with a passion. Just a thought to put out there. We really need to get away from the pump and dumpers. Right now, they are just dominating crypto. I want to say this, and I want to be very clear when I say this. I want you guys to stop what you’re doing and read this, stop, re-read this, and carefully consider it. Cryptocurrency is considered currency (money) but the United States government. If you live inside the United States, and you’re manipulating the price of a currency, colluding to change the price of a currency, or using insider information to trade it, you are going to be looking at a series of felony charges when the FBI white collar division knocks on your door. You morons are posting this on Twitter. Do you really think the NSA or FBI cannot get access to your DMs and chatlogs? I do not think anyone realizes that right now, in all likelihood the FBI is investigating. You’re deciding your fate. Keep it up. How confident am I that it’s currency and those laws apply? I’ve met with a series of very good (and expensive) law firms who did not hesitate in clarifying it. I know many of you are overseas, I know Germany already has declared it a legal tender as well. Start looking into your laws. It is NOT the Wild West. If you think it is, and you think you can do whatever you want and the laws don’t apply. The will have this really cool shoe box for you to spend some time in. Like a really bad vacation – for years. I am sure Ross Ulbricht thought the government wouldn’t reach out and snatch his butt either. Pissing off the government is never a good idea. Telling them you’re untouchable is just encouraging them to slap the taste out of your mouth. Remember when Peter gave his apology to BitPay as pathetic and sad like? That’s your future. Keep it up. For everyone else, the real way to increase value is community, mass adoption, infrastructure, products and services. This takes everyone from every background to do. You can’t program? Be an ambassador. Talk to people, show them videos and tutorials. Have art or graphic skills? Do that. Can sing or rap? Make crypto songs. Can write or illustrate? Make a book or comic. The more ways we put ourselves out there, the more people will be introduced to it in a positive manner. Everyone is useful. You just need to find your place to contribute. Step to the plate and deliver. This is our time. This is our moment. We are building the future. We either turn the corner and rise to the challenge, or we let it defeat us and we spend our twilight years talking about what almost was. We have to rise up. We have to take this as a personal mission to do more, do better, be nicer, be friendlier. Be more helpful. Be more encouraging. This has been the most amazing experience of my life. I cannot believe this is my life now, truly. I am surrounded by the smartest and most interesting people from all over the world. It’s truly incredible. I hope I am not too late. I hope I’ve used the right words to express myself, my passion, my heartache, and you’ll see the light. It’s been a tough go of it lately. Time to get jacked up, get excited, and start becoming vocal and enthusiastic about our future and the direction we will be taking it. Let’s do big things. #MuchLoveJoe (BitcoinSachs)
